On December 4th, a fire started north of Los Angeles and due to strong winds, it spread into the mountains. It soon surrounded the small mountain town of Ojai. All of the people in Ojai had to  evacuate. Thomas fire destroyed approximately 270,000 acres of land and about 1,200 structures. Officials cannot be sure that the fire will be completely out until January. Thomas fire left hundreds of people homeless.
